Sebum is a natural antioxidant of our skin that protects against oxidation stress. If you have oily skin, congratulations - you have wrinkles much later than those with dry skin!
But the active secretion of sebum has its disadvantages .
When the skin feels " threatened " it secretes more sebum, which can accumulate, harden and result in blackheads and comedones .
If we do not regulate this process in time, then inflammation will develop and a bump will appear.
In order to control sebum secretion:

Avoid alcohol and drying products. With a violation of the barrier, oiliness will increase, because the skin receives an SOS signal and will try to protect itself by releasing excess oil.

Use only gentle cleansers that do not dry out the skin.

Add acids to your routine. For example, AHA acids, salicylic, almond or lactic acids. They help the skin to get rid of dead cells and prevent sebum from accumulating in the pores.
